This week Governor Walker announced that the state has saved $1 billion from the budget reforms that we put in place. It's not surprising that our reforms are working. We're seeing great results across the state. Just look at what happened with property taxes. Homeowners are paying less property taxes for the first time in a decade. We made the tough choices that are paying off for the state. We didn't use accounting tricks or raid funds. We didn't see massive layoffs or tax increases (like in Illinois). Republicans did the right thing. We paid our old bills and reduced a $3.6 billion deficit. Most importantly, the state has a balanced budget. Business owners are optimistic and hopefully, you are, too. Wisconsin is moving forward!
